STATEMENT OF CANDIDATE FOR
SHERIFF - CORONER - PUBLIC ADMINISTRATOR

I wish to thank the county citizens for the privilege of serving as Sheriff during this term.  I am asking for that privilege again by seeking your support in re-election.  My staff and I have successfully implemented many programs for the safety and wellbeing of the county, still there is more to be done.

During this term we have been able to attain full staffing levels in most divisions and are concentrating on the patrol division, with more deputy sheriffs working our streets today than we have in the past 27 years.

Major programs include, Community Cars, Cadets, Explorer Scouts, Custody K-9s, Staff Recruitment/Retention, additionally we have enhanced our Court Services Division, Narcotics Task Force, Reserve Deputy Program, Graffiti Abatement and  Coroners Division.

We have secured $80 Million in state funding to build the additional jail beds we critically need today and for the future.  We supported legislation to create a Re-Entry Facility for parolees returning to our county to address jail/prison recidivism rates.

As your Sheriff, I will continue to dedicate my integrity, leadership and crime-fighting expertise in maintaining the people’s trust in the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
