• Elected Sheriff November 9, 2006, and took office January 8, 2007.
  • Has over 35 years full-time experience of law enforcement.

  • Has commanded every major division with-in the Sheriff's Office.
  • Began his law enforcement career at the Oxnard Police Department in 1975.
  • Joined the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff in 1982.
  • Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology Law Enforcement from California State University, Fresno, and a single subject teaching credential.
  • Is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (185th Session) in Quantico, VA.
  • Is a recipient of the Linden Lions Club Melvin Jones Fellowship Award 2005.
  • Is a recipient of the California Peace Officers Association's "Award of Distinction" 2005.
  • Was appointed to the California Council for Interstate Adult Supervision by Governor Schwarzenegger on June 26, 2007.

  • Was appointed to the California Department of Boating and Waterways Commission by Governor Schwarzenegger on December 17, 2009.

  • Is a graduate of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar February 2010.
  • Appointed as Sergeant-at-Arms for the California State Sheriff's Association 2013.
  • Is a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellowship - Tracy Rotary 2013.
  • Named Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the Boy Scouts of America - Greater Yosemite Council 2013.
  • Has been married for 37 years to wife, Robyn Giannecchini Moore and has two children daughter Stephanie graduating with her Masters Degree, St. Mary's College of California and son Gregory working for County ISD.
  • Resides in Linden, CA.
