Elected Sheriff November 9, 2006, and took office January 8, 2007.

Has over 32 years full-time experience of law enforcement.

Has commanded every major division with-in the Sheriff's Office.

Began his law enforcement career at the Oxnard Police Department in 1975.

Joined the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff in 1982.

Holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology Law Enforcement from California State University, Fresno, and a single subject teaching credential.

Is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (185th Session) in Quantico, VA.

Is a recipient of the Linden Lions Club Melvin Jones Fellowship Award 2005.

Is a recipient of the California Peace Officers Association's "Award of Distinction" 2005.

Was appointed to the California Council for Interstate Adult Supervision by Governor Schwarzenegger on June 26, 2007.
- Was appointed to the California Department of Boating and Waterways Commission by Governor Schwarzenegger on December 17, 2009.
- Is a graduate of the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar February 2010.

Has been married for 29 years to wife, Robyn Giannecchini Moore and has two children who are both currently attending college.
